Committed, Prepared, and Determined – Attorney Bradley G. Ertl is a fearless trial lawyer – having represented hundreds of clients throughout his career. Beginning his career as a civil defense lawyer for a prominent civil trial defense law firm, Attorney Ertl represented individuals and companies. As a defense lawyer, one represents a client in all their cases – good or bad. Sometimes, those case were the result of death and destruction forced upon the lives of innocent persons who did nothing wrong when tragedy struck. After a time, Attorney Ertl decided he had to stop defending the injurers and begin representing the injured. That’s when he decided to change sides and join Gilde Law Firm.

Drawing on his past experiences as a civil defense lawyer, Attorney Ertl has a unique ability to determine the distinct pressure points in any individual case and has the necessary skills and experience and follow through to use them. Attorney Ertl’s intransigent commitment to his clients and his clients alone has yielded consistent and impressive results. Never an underdog, Attorney Ertl revels in defeating the tactics often implemented by large civil defense firms which include paper bombing, needlessly filing disingenuous discovery motions, and attending hearings and trials with an exorbitant number of attorneys who have no other purpose than to intimidate their opponents. Attorney Ertl is never intimidated. He is committed. He is prepared. He is determined to make it right.

A Texas transplant, Attorney Ertl was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He moved to Texas in 2011 upon his admission to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. While at SHSU, Attorney Ertl was wildly successful in academics, extracurricular activities, and in the community. Attorney Ertl graduated with a double Major in Criminal Justice and Political Science and a Minor in Legal Studies. He represented SHSU at hundreds of athletic and community events as part of the school’s nationally recognized Spirit Programs. Attorney Ertl also had the distinct honor of representing SHSU’s students as part of the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Institute and is the only person to have run every street within Huntsville’s city limits. All of the above culminated in Attorney Ertl being awarded “The Sammy Award,” the most prestigious award offered to any faculty, staff, or student at SHSU.

After college, Attorney Ertl attended law school at South Texas College of Law Houston. While at South Texas, he was selected to represent the school as an Advocate in the school’s nationally recognized Mock Trial Advocacy Program. Again, Attorney Ertl was highly successful, helping to lead his teams to advanced national tournament rounds. Beyond the recognition for his advocacy skills, Attorney Ertl appreciated working with his teammates and coaches the most. It is the time spent with his teammates and coaches while at STCL that Attorney Ertl credits the most for his unique legal advocacy style and skill set.

In addition to practicing law, in his free time, Attorney Ertl enjoys watching his beloved Wisconsin sports teams (Packers, Brewers, Bucks) and his adopted Houston teams (Texans, Astros, Rockets). He also enjoys spending time with his dog, Mickey. Attorney Ertl believes volunteering is incredibly important and continues to volunteer as a coach and guest judge for STCL’s advocacy teams and works as Co-Chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Lawyers for a Beautiful Houston Committee – an organization which works to uplift underprivileged areas with trash clean ups and beautification projects.
